Brasilia is a planned city that was built in 5 years. One of the ideas was that each apartment quadra would be self-sufficient and supported by a commercial quadra. While most of this is still valid, some of the commercial quadras have evolved into specialty product quadras.
One of these is the Rua das Mobília (that is what we call the street anyway) at SMAS Trecho1, close to Park Shopping. Here you can find plenty of stores selling all sorts of household and outdoor furniture.
If you do not like what they have in stock they can custom make any furniture you need. One store is selling solid wood tables and benches which are stunning. You can also find places that refurnish your old sofas and chairs.
This is a much better alternative than going to stores like Tok&Stok, the Brazilian version of IKEA, that are ridiculously expensive. Prices in Rua das Mobília very reasonable and it is a convenient location with heaps of options.
